Our Fibroscan machine arrived at the Hospital in January and is already set up and diagnosing patients. The Fibroscan is used to diagnose various liver issues caused by diabetes, auto-immune issues, metabolic disorders, drug and alcohol abuse, and viruses. This machine is one of the first in Nigeria, and already physicians from other clinics and hospitals are sending patients to Faith Alive for diagnosis and treatment. As an integral part of Faith Alive's "Center of Excellence", the Fibroscan will have two impacts to the Hospital: It will broaden the free services offered to the Hospital's patients, while also generating some income to the Hospital from wealthier patients from private clinics who otherwise would have to travel long distances for diagnosis.
