Our Project Areas in Nigeria
The Faith Alive Foundation provides free medical services and other holistic care to the community of Jos, Nigeria, a city of approximately 1 million people.
HOSPITAL
The Hospital in Jos saw 58,510 patients in 2019, with nearly half of those visits related to HIV/AIDS. Available medical services include general surgeries, obstetrics, pre-natal care, gynecology, pediatrics, cardiology, eye care, ear nose and throat, skin grafting, and others. The diagnostic equipment available at the hospital include x-ray and digital x-ray, viral load testing, blood culture analyzer, ultrasound, electro-cardiogram, and echo-cardiogram. Faith Alive USA is committed to broaden the services available at the hospital because it is the only source of care available to the majority of the local population.
SKILLS ACQUISITION
The Hospital also operates a Skills Acquisition center, where members of the community can learn sewing, dressmaking, knitting, driving, catering, and computer literacy. In 2019, 27 students graduated from the sewing school, each of whom was provided with a sewing machine upon graduation. 12 students graduated from the computer school, and 5 from the catering school.
