DR. CLIFFORD EKE   /   Director
Dr. Clifford Chimaobi Eke, MD, FACS, FICS is a Board-Certified general and general-thoracic surgeon at Kaiser Permanente in Fontana and Ontario, California.  He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine (LLUSM), completed his General Surgery Residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center and Postdoctoral Fellowship in General Thoracic Surgery at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Fontana.  Dr. Eke is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at LLUSM.  He is also a Fellow of both the American College of Surgeons and the International College of Surgeons. He is a member of the Residency Oversite Committee of Arrowhead-Kaiser Permanente General Surgery Residency Program, and in is charge of its residents’ rotation and education at the Ontario Medical Center.  Dr. Eke is the Founder and CEO of Chima Medical Missions International (www.chimamedicalmissions.com), a non-profit organization that provides free general medical care and surgical services in Nigeria.  He volunteers for many other organizations and has received numerous awards for his achievements and professional contributions.  He has published many articles related to cardiovascular problems, cancer, and several scientific topics in peer-reviewed journals.  Dr. Eke is the Chair of the Medical Mission Committee of the Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas (ANPA), the past Executive Director of Imo Medical Mission, Inc. He annually leads medical/surgical mission teams to different parts of the world including the underserved areas of the United States of America, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nigeria. He is also on the nominating committee of ANPA.  Dr. Eke is a past President of the American Cancer Society, California Division, and in 2016 he was honored with the St. George National Award by the American Cancer Society Board of Directors. Dr. Eke was among 24 recipients in the United States to receive this honor, considered the society’s most prestigious award presented to volunteers.  The St. George National Award recognizes outstanding volunteers who have demonstrated ongoing leadership and dedication to helping deliver on the American Cancer Society’s mission and supporting key initiatives such as patient outreach, legislative advocacy, fundraising, and special events.  Dr. Eke joined the FAUSA board in 2018.
